Terms of use

Last updated: 13 October 2026

These terms apply to the use of the Nebira app. By signing up, you accept them.

1. What it is about

With Nebira, private people can lend and borrow things. Nebira brings people together – the loan itself is agreed directly between the person who lends and the person who borrows. Nebira is not a party to the contract and does not handle any payments.

2. Account

  • You must be at least 16 years old. If you are under 18, you need the consent of your parents or legal guardian for loans with a fee or a deposit.
  • Your details must be correct. One account per person is allowed.
  • Keep your password secret. You are responsible for everything that happens with your account.
  • To lend, borrow and use groups, you verify your phone number.

3. Costs

Nebira is free for private users. You decide yourself whether you lend for free or ask for a fee or a deposit. Payment happens directly between the people involved.

4. What is allowed

  • Only lend things that belong to you or that you are allowed to lend, and describe them truthfully, including defects.
  • Not allowed are things whose possession or transfer is prohibited or needs a permit (e.g. weapons, drugs, stolen goods), as well as animals.
  • Treat others with respect. No harassment, no fraud, no advertising and no spam.
  • Only upload photos and texts you hold the rights to and that do not harm anyone.

5. Loans

  • You agree on the period, handover, fee and deposit in the app or in the chat.
  • Record the condition at handover, for example with photos.
  • Whoever borrows treats the item with care and returns it on time and clean.
  • In case of damage, loss or disputes, the people involved settle it among themselves; the law applies (in particular the rules of the Swiss Code of Obligations on loans for use and on leases).

6. Liability

Nebira is not liable for the items, for information from other users, for their behaviour or for agreements between them. We do our best to keep the app working reliably, but cannot guarantee this at all times. As far as legally permitted, our liability is excluded; intent and gross negligence are excepted.

7. Report, block and suspend

You can report items, people and messages, and block people. We review reports and may remove content and restrict or suspend accounts in case of violations of these terms or the law.

8. Your content

Your texts and photos remain yours. You allow us to store them and show them in the app as far as necessary for Nebira. How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.

9. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → “Delete account”), see Delete account.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. We inform you about important changes in good time in the app or by email.

11. Law

Swiss law applies. Mandatory places of jurisdiction remain reserved.
